Animal Rescue League of Iowa
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) has grown dramatically since its founding in 1926 expanding its programs that serve both people and homeless animals across Iowa. The Mission of Animal Rescue League of Iowa’s is to promote animal welfare,
the human animal bond, and prevent the overpopulation of pets. The Animal Rescue League of Iowa Inc. (ARL) is Iowa’s largest nonprofit animal shelter, caring for many thousands of pets each year. The ARL serves people and pets from across the state of Iowa through its programs, which include pet adoption, humane education, pet behavior training, spay/neuter, animal cruelty intervention and much more.
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa opened the doors to our new shelter, located directly south of the previous shelter.
The new shelter allows them to not only accommodate more animals, but to provide space for important educational programs that will truly make a difference in the lives of animals and their caretakers. The Animal Rescue League of Iowa serves animals and people across the state of Iowa through its numerous programs. These programs are designed to help reduce the number of homeless pets by fostering positive relationships among people
and animals.
