Humane Society of Scott County

The Humane Society of Scott County (HSSC) is a non-profit organization founded in 1902. Humane Society of Scott County is one of the thousands of animal shelters across the United States that receive so many animals and so few resources. The shelter is funded entirely by donations and a fee is charged to the city and county for the care of the animals. They work hard to find responsible loving homes for these innocent creatures.

Humane Society of Scott County does not discriminate based on breed or age. They believe that it is wrong for anyone to fail to provide any animal with food, water, shelter, necessary medical care and companionship. They feel that the tragic state of pet overpopulation in the United States is every pet owner’s responsibility. They urge you to join with them in their efforts to control dog and cat populations and eliminate the need for euthanasia. The policies for the shelter are regulated by the Board of Directors and implemented by the Executive Director, Ms. Pam Arndt, and the shelter staff.

Jewell Animal Hospital

Jewell Animal Hospital’s goals are based on the belief that preventative care is our biggest defense against illness.
Jewell Animal Hospital’s vaccine protocols are adjusted to meet the needs of you and your pet’s lifestyle. For example, feline leukemia vaccine is a breakthrough vaccine that prevents a life threatening disease in cats.

However, since feline leukemia is transmitted cat to cat, it is not neccessary for an indoor cat that never goes outside.
It is, however, quite neccessary, and potentially life saving for any cat that goes outdoors, and comes into contact with other cats to be vaccinated for leukemia. This is an example of how they consider your needs before administering any medical protocol.

Jewell Animal Hospital’s customers’ needs are of the utmost importance. Jewell Animal Hospital’s entire team is committed
to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of their business is from repeat customers and referrals. They take pride in their rescue work, their assistance with animal population control issues, and their own South Hamilton Animal Alliance.

Through it they take care of their own local community by rehoming strays, performing trap-neuter-release on feral cats, and taking in owner surrenders when space permits. They would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you and your pet the best service in the industry.
